this week's guffaws

I've been wanting to make a 'regular' component to my blog lately, and I think I've settled on a final idea. It's no secret that at this point of my life, things are a bit busy, what with the 2 month old who likes to marathon-nurse at night (or just use me as a human pacifier), the 20 month old whose favorite pasttime is screaming at the top of her lungs, and the 7 year old who struggles with his ADHD daily (and the accompanying behavioral issues to top it all off). So, when things come along that make me laugh out loud, I feel the need to treasure them. Laughing beats crying any day, right? My hope is that each Sunday I will be able to compile a short list of online things that brought a smile to my face that week. (Notice I say hope... I'm slowly learning that I need to recognize the need for flexibility... sloooowly learning...)

For the inaugural post of this week's guffaws, I want to start off with not one, but two funny things from this cool website Wacky Archives. The first is mildly funny- you know, makes you smile a little, maybe you'll want to read one aloud to your significant other. It's a selection of the dumbest game show responses. Among the highlights:

Presenter: What happened in Dallas on November 22, 1963?
Contestant: I don’t know, I wasn’t watching it then

Presenter: In which European city was the first opera house opened in 1637?
Contestant: Sydney

Presenter: Johnny Weissmuller died on this day. Which jungle-swinging character clad only in a loin cloth did he play?
Contestant: Jesus

Alright, stepping it up a notch, this baby care advice, also from Wacky Archives, absolutely slayed me. There are many, bust-out-laughing pictures you MUST check out, but these ranked among my favorites:

For the grand finale, there was one thing that had me laughing so hard this week that... well, let's just say that having giving birth to three children may have compromised some of my former abilities... Okay, so I'm not sure about copyright laws and such, so I don't think I can post the video directly on here, but please, please click on this link to the Ellen Show. Make sure you are sitting down and that you will not scare anyone by your inevitable hysterical laughter. Trust me, you will laugh.

There you have it. Three things that made me laugh this week. I do hope this can become a regular installment to my blogging life. We all need to laugh, and there always comes a week when you need it even more!
