I'm no financial guru, but...

... I have to say that Jim Cramer just got bitch-slapped by Jon Stewart big-time. I can't fully understand half of what these two are talking about, but I can see plain as day that Jon Stewart is informed and holding Jim Cramer, and CNBC as a whole, accountable for their ridiculous self-professed financial expertness.

(At this point, I have to say that I started this post in the middle of Thursday night's interview, but I couldn't pull the embed code for the videos for the next half hour because apparently all other living creatures with Internet access were also trying to get on the Daily Show's website as well... Friday morning was a bit easier!)

If you haven't heard about the supposed war being waged by Jon and Jim, here's the background...

It all began last week on 3/4:

Followed a few days later on 3/9 by this:

and:

Next up was on 3/10:

And the next day brought:

Then there was last night. Practically the entire episode was devoted to the grilling that Jon gave Jim. The site split the episode up into many clips that would be a pain in the patootie to embed in here (or I'm just getting lazy...) . So, please go here to watch the entire episode, which is made up mostly of the interview, aka the grilling Jon gave Jim.

Apparently there are also outtakes... oh man... please watch those on the site if you'd like too...

Now the point of this was not to rip Jim Cramer a new one (although I must say that his voice began to sound like mine does when I'm on the verge of breaking down in tears but I'm trying desperately not to), but to make a point about the responsibilities that a financial news network has to REPORT THE FINANCIAL NEWS IN A RESPONSIBLE MANNER. Point made, Mr. Stewart. Point made.

Wishing I lived in NYC so I could stalk Jon Stewart,

  1. Can't wait to watch it! And all your background videos (wouldn't want you to embed those all for nothing!). I just watched the 3/4 episode yesterday and was dying! I really LOVE JS. :)

  3. Still don't have time to watch the full episode, but just finished with all your videos. That one from the 10th about had me pee my pants! I might have to link over to your post to save myself some work. :)

  4. Haven't watched yet, but have read a ton about it today. I've been pretty preoccupied with trying to come up with a nickname for you...

  5. Oh I happened to catch some of this on 3/10 and could NOT stop laughing. The fact that it's made into such a huge brouhaha is beyond me. But umm MSNBC, get with the program. Literally, in this case.

  6. You had 3/4 of my family hooting and hollering in the office this afternoon. Thanks for consolidating everything for us. Unbelievable.
