coming back

A friend stopped by tonight to bear firsthand witness to the ongoing projects. I do believe that a facebook status update of mine had her worried that I was going a bit stir crazy lately, so after sharing some pizza with us and heading to get some Rita's (YUM!!), she and I took a little field trip to my favorite place in town. Target, of course. This left lovely hubby to do the bedtime routine on his own, while I spent some time leisurely wandering the aisles, (unsuccessfully) looking for some accessories for our new green living room. Upon coming home, I was informed that the two older munchkins hadn't quite nodded off yet, so I could go up to say good night. When I snuggled with Red for a minute, this was the unforgettable exchange we had:

Red: How did you get here?

Me: Remember, I went out with L?

Red: But how did you get here?

Me: In her car.

Red: Ohhh... she dropped you by and then she leaved?

Me: Yup, she went to her own house.

Red (with the most serious tone that a two year old can muster): Oh, thank you Mommy for coming back! I really, really, really love you, Mommy.

So apparently, after a crazy week like this one has been, when Mommy goes with a friend to Target, there's the fear that I'll never come back. I don't know if that should sadden me to the core, or if I should feel extremely loved. Perhaps a little bit of both.

So not running away from this wonderful life,

  3. How way too sweet is that??? I just love those little moments. Maybe he just realizes the power that Target holds, and that it's entirely possible to go there and never return? Maybe.

  4. Awwwww... how sweet! I don't get that sweetness anymore... I get, "I hate you, Mother. You NEVER buy me ANYTHING!" (Nice, huh?) Or, if he's in a good mood, he thinks it's funny to just shake his butt at me, giggle and fart. *sigh* Boys.....

  6. Oh my heart. One of those moments that makes it all worth it, huh?

I'm obviously WAY behind on your adventures, but my oh my have you been having fun! Er... whatever you want to call it. I love the colors you've chosen. The kitchen one is a lot like mine, but a little cooler. Maybe someday I'll put picks up of my little kitchen renovation (before we move AGAIN).
