everyone is beautiful

You know how every once in a while you pick up a book and you make such an intense connection with the main character that you have to keep reminding yourself that you're reading a piece of fiction? Well, this is that book for me. I read Everyone is Beautiful by Katherine Center back in March, and since then, I've been hearing about it everywhere. It's the book that's being talked about now. It's not 'chick lit' in that fluffy sense, but it definitely portrays a female perspective that I can totally relate to. I could go on and on, but I've already reviewed it before, so you can pop over there, if you're interested.

So, if I've read it months ago and my review posted way back then, why am I blogging about it now, you ask? Well, I'm always looking to pass on recommendations for books that I've LOVED, and while this one absolutely fits the bill, there's also added incentive this time around. Over at 5 Minutes for Books, we're going to be doing our very first Bookclub with a contemporary selection (which is so more my style than the classics...), and I'm delighted that EIB is the first pick!

Do you need more convincing that you just have to read this book? My 5M4B editor, Jennifer, put together 10 reasons why you should read this book and join us for the Bookclub. (I really reiterate #3!) And all you non-bloggers out there-- Jennifer's been brainstorming ways to get you all involved as well!

Did I state my case strongly enough to have you heading to your local library or bookstore? It's a quick read-- I seriously ignored everyone for a day and polished it off (reason #6), and I'm planning on getting a re-read in before June 2nd. That's the day-- read this book and join us at 5M4B on June 2nd for the fun, the discussion and the book love!

Loving beautiful books,

  1. Hmmm--a reread, huh?

We need to figure out what we're going to do and how we're going to award prizes.
