happy 40th!

Oh my, this is just too cute not to share. Have you seen Google today? No? I'll give you a smaller sized peek:

updated 11/05: And I just had to update this post to include the following day's google pic. I think I like this one even better!

updated 11/06/09: Apparently this is a multi-day google event... not sure how many, but Friday's is pretty cute, too:

updated 11/08/09:
Man, with the birthday festivities yesterday, I never saw google, so I'm wondering who got the 11/07 honor of appearing... was it Oscar?? (Yup, it was!) I just KNEW that Elmo would make an appearance at some point, but I didn't predict the shaking letters!

updated 11/09/09: Today's might be my favorite yet! Bwah ha ha ha!

updated 11/10/09: Today marks the final Sesame Street Google doodle. Adorable!

Happy birthday to you multicolored & multilingual monsters! Grover, you always were my favorite, with your "near and far" bit still making me smile 30 years later. (Sorry you didn't get your own individual doodle, man!!)

I am proud to say that I grew up with Sesame Street, and I think the kidlets and I will be watching this morning as a birthday celebration!

Adios!

**How am I doing on my gratitude challenge?? Come check up on me here since I'll be adding new entries each day!**

  1. I saw this earlier but got distracted and couldn't comment. However, I was just reminded of it. Why? Sam is in his room playing on his computer and he just came down to tell me he wanted to show me something "really funny". I go up there to investigate and it's the Google home page. HA! I asked him whose legs they were and he said, "Um, that bird on Elmo?" Apparently we didn't watch enough Sesame Street but he sure enjoyed those Elmo movies! Moral of the longest, most meaningless comment ever? I was thinking of you! :)

  2. YAY! this is fun. Where would we be without the street, or muppets in general. No where good is where.

  3. Ok so I totally didn't put 2 and 2 together with the google icons when I saw them this week. I'm slow. I'm soooooo slow.
