Who am I?

What an existential question, huh? Nah, no need to get all deep, this is just a silly little blog after all. Here are the stats:
  • I'm a baby of the mid-70's, so do the math. Any way you cut it, I guess I'm officially a grown-up.
  • Lovely hubby and I have been a couple since 1994, so we've pretty much told each other all the stories of our lives before we got together, and for all the stuff that's happened since, well we've seen the stories first-hand.
  • The three rugrats who provide the screaming soundtrack to my life are JAM (born in 2000, so it'll always be easy to remember how old he is), Red (born six years later- the amount of time it took for us to even entertain the idea of another child), and Pudge (born 18 months after Red... interesting story behind that one- I'll have to tell you sometime).
  • Ten years of my life were spent hanging with four-year-olds. No, I wasn't held back time and time again. Nope, I was the coolest preschool teacher ever. (Or, I was the mean teacher who made kids come to circle time and sit at the table for lunch.)

  • When our family expanded and child care costs tipped the scales lower than my salary, I traded in the teacher-apron for a stay-at-home-mom apron. Okay, it's still the same damn apron, but now the only noses I wipe are attached to my own offspring.
  • I began blogging in 2005, and four posts later I promptly forgot all about the whole thing. Apparently it takes me a while to remember things, because I didn't hop back on board for two years. It's been nothing but drivel and babble since then.
  • I cautiously dipped my toe into the waters of review blogging, with the launch of mte reviews in June 2010.  Who knows how it will go, but it will be fun talking about the stuff that we use and like!
    • I'm happy to occupy cyberspace not only here on my home sweet blog, but also over on 5 Minutes for Books, where I try to sound intelligent in my book reviews, and at DC Metro Moms, where I am surrounded by talented writers and I try like hell to blend in.

There you have it- I'm an open book. With a crapload of chapters and a meticulously organized index.
