the eggs have it

You could say that it's been sort of dark around here lately. Despite the increasingly sunny weather, there's been a bit of a storm cloud hanging over my head these past two weeks. And you know what they say, right? When Mama isn't happy... well, everyone else is basically screwed.

Then yesterday came along, and I was pleased that a good chunk of the regular weekend cleaning had gotten accomplished on Saturday, so the idea to head to a local Nature Center became a solid plan. Simply put, it was awesome. The kids were excited as soon as we walked in the doors, and we spent about two hours looking at the animals, walking outside, and leisurely playing. More on that to come later, since it was another supporting activity for our Bird Project.

But maybe this signifies a break in the darkness. Beyond a much needed fun family day, I also think I received a message from the universe yesterday evening as I was prepping dinner. Sunday often means that I haven't planned a meal and we end up eating breakfast for dinner (yay, pancakes!), but I decided to mix it up a bit and add a quiche to the menu. After breaking four eggs in quick succession, I looked down into the bowl and saw this:

A sign from above? Is the universe trying to tell me something? Anyone else hearing the whistling notes of Don't Worry, Be Happy?

Loving the surprises that come out of nowhere,

  4. Wow! If that doesn't say, "Don't worry, be happy", I don't know what does. Unless, of course, the pancakes were shaped like rainbows.
