celebrate books? sign me up!

I'm not quite sure that my silly little blog would technically fall into the 'book blogger' category, seeing as I write about a whole heck of a lot of nothingness other than books and such, but I was thrilled beyond imagination when I received a couple of nominations for this year's Book Blogger Appreciation Week awards. Alas, I wasn't shortlisted, which made me tear up for only a short time, but there seriously is joy to be found in simply being nominated. (Call me a cliche. Go ahead.)

I don't frequent a whole lot of book blogs, but the ones that I do are pretty darn amazing:

My dear friend Corinne reads like a maniac, and she posts a gazillion insightful reviews over at The Book Nest.

Another of my online book club pals, Melissa, reads like a fiend as well, and offers up her thoughtful opinions at Book Nut.

One of my fellow 5M4B reviewers, Carrie, also publishes a slew of her other reviews on her own book blog, Reading to Know. Again, she's got super-hero reading powers.

And my 5M4B editor, Jennifer, who I like to respectfully call "Boss Lady," has a fair share of book reflections on her blog, Snapshot, as well. I'm seriously starting to wonder if these ladies have some sort of time-stopping-machine to create more hours in the day to dedicate to their reading habits!

Of course, I cannot forget to highlight the site that brings me joy and a shelf-ful of books waiting to be read-- 5 Minutes for Books! You wanna know the very, very cool thing? We're on the shortlist for two BBAW awards this year-- Best Book Club Blog and Best Community Builder, and we six are honored and thrilled!

I was a bit confused with the time line, so I mistakenly thought I could send you over there to vote for us, but lo and behold, the voting closed on Saturday! So, all I can ask is that you just keep your fingers crossed for us!

Thinking winning thoughts,

  1. Thank you worker bee! If I'm Boss Lady, you've gotta be something right? Seriously--you are my right arm, or left arm, or at least a hand.

I linked up your post on 5M4B sidebar, but I think you can link up on the BBAW site too.

  2. Right back at ya, Dawn. :-) I like being called a "fiend". I may have to find a way to use that.
