* Place a box of tissues near your computer before you listen to this heart-wrenching Story Corps piece: "A Son's Premonition, and a Final Baseball Game". I'm at a loss for words about this story, just filled with sadness and awe and gratitude.
* The Kojo Nnamdi Show consistently offers insight and discussion on local issues, and the current same-sex marriage push in Washington, DC, has been addressed recently. This show from 11/18/09 includes the angle that Catholic Charities is taking in the debate in its first half hour, and as always, I was impressed with Kojo's ability to respectfully ask the questions that need to be asked, and more importantly, to not relent when the questions are dodged. The second half hour focused on race, which I plan to listen to after I post this, because it sounded like an interesting perspective.
* Still go those tissues nearby? This piece on Morning Edition the other day made me stop my morning assembly line production of breakfast/lunchbox prep. With my elbows propped on the counter, the tears built up and spilled over as I listened to Charles Sabine's story. I can't help but hope for a miracle for him.
* And finally, a little segment from All Things Considered from this week that blew my mind, "PA University Targets Overweight Students". I gotta say way to go to Michele Norris for her questioning at the end. All I could think was how thankful I am that I'm not trying to graduate from college right now!
Sharing the NPR love,

**How did I do on my gratitude challenge?? **
