As far as the actual seasonal stuff, we haven't given any thought to Christmas cards yet, but I'm pretty sure we did it very last minute last year. On a Friday night, the kids had their baths/showers, got into PJ's and had a quick photo shoot in front of the Christmas tree. That night I uploaded the pics online to Costco, ordered the cards, picked them up on Monday, and had them in the mail by Wednesday. I think we'll be on that timeline again this year, if it gets done at all... which really, if it doesn't, I don't think the world is going to end. We haven't even put up a Christmas tree yet, which is still okay for us, since it is only the the 7th... but if it doesn't get done next weekend, we may be in trouble. I'm back in deadline mode since we have a special visitor coming in two weekends, so I NEED projects and decorating and major cleaning to get done before then. I'd very much like to make a good first impression on our guest, and our little home does look so cozy when we've got the decorations in place. We're hoping to do something a little different this year with the Christmas tree, but after a couple tries yesterday, we still hadn't found what we were hoping to find. Here's hoping that it all comes together next weekend!
Well, that was kind of lame for a post, I guess. It could have been titled, "I feel sick and tired and I still have a bunch of crap to get done," but that would have been a total spoiler, right?
Coughing into my elbow like the CDC instructs,

P.S. From now until 12/8, please check out a slew of giveaways on 5 Minutes for Books' Gift Guide & Giveaway!
Can I just put in a plug for electronic Christmas cards? They are excellent for last minute (and save postage and paper!). Just sayin'...
ReplyDeleteAnd I do hope you all feel better soon. We've been fighting the same revolving cold around here too. I am a HUGE fan of Puffs Plus.
I send out Happy New Year cards now. There is just to much to do right now.
ReplyDeleteIt is better to get the colds out of the way now and be healthy when Christmas does come. Makes for a much happier family.
UGH! Sam has been battling a cough/cold/pneumonia/bronchitis for what seems like an eternity. We've been to the doctor twice and the ER once. So far. Praise health insurance!
ReplyDeleteHope you all have a healthy and happy holiday!
*Forget the Christmas cards, just get that tree up!

ReplyDeleteYou know... there is something called TMI. Do you people really like talking about snotty noses and the like? Guys would never do that, just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm dying to know what that person said that made you remove the comment!
