- A new book, Get Me Out: A History of Childbirth from the Garden of Eden to the Sperm Bank is getting a lot of NPR attention, with its author Randi Hutter Epstein interviewed this week on both Fresh Air in "'Get Me Out': Making Babies Through The Ages" and All Things Considered in "Author Reveals Flaws In The History Of Childbirth." This premise is hugely fascinating to me, so this book immediately went on the wish list!
- Another All Things Considered story caught my ear, especially after a story on the same topic was included in last week's NPR list. "Scientist: Autism Paper Had Catastrophic Effects" is an excellent interview with a professor of vaccinology who has written a book about autism. A controversial subject, surely, but one that needs to continue to be talked about and researched.
- How about a triple play for All Things Considered? With the snowstorm of forever upon the DC area, it shouldn't be a surprise that it's the topic of NPR stories, but I absolutely LOVE the twist they put on it for this story- "Wintry Literature For a Snowy Day." If you're a book lover (and I know the vast majority of you reading this absolutely are!), you've got to give this short piece a listen!
- And for a final entry, get ready to laugh. This take on the rising additional costs that have been put in place over the last few years for air travel will leave you giggling... and maybe wondering? Marketplace is the program to thank for this dose of humor in "What else can airlines charge us for?"
Keep on keeping on,

HA!! I listened to the airplane one - that's SO STINKING FUNNY :)
