Happy Wednesday! Oh, and for the green-wearing-Irish-for-at-least-a-day among you, Happy St. Patrick's Day as well! The NPR selections this week really have nothing to do with old St. Patty, but there are some interesting things in the mix, as always.- "Computers One Step Closer To Reading Your Mind"-- Okay, after recently reading The Mysterious Benedict Society series, this story creeped me out just a little bit. I don't want people to figure out a way for computers to read our minds... I'd be in big trouble a lot of time, I tell ya!
- "Frightened Rabbit: Inspired By Solitude"-- I've been thinking that I should start expanding my musical tastes, since the only time I put music on, it's usually by the other three letter acronym that I adore. This story caught my ear and I think I'd like the music that these guys make.
- "Peter Gabriel: No Guitars, No Drums, All Covers"-- Speaking of music, I bet this one is going to be good, because Peter Gabriel is simply amazing. Looks like I may have to do some music shopping soon!
- "OK Go Fights For Its Viral Video"-- Oh, I almost forgot- there's another music one in here! If you haven't seen the AMAZING video for OK Go's "This Too Shall Pass," you've got to click on this story! (There are two videos that I've seen for this cool, cool song, and while I love the marching band one, this one is truly remarkable!) I totally need to get some of their tunes, too!
- "In Which I Try To Use All Of WGN's Newly Banned Words In One Sentence"-- Okay, don't think "bad words," but more like "annoying newspeak words." Very funny stuff.
- "Pardon Us While We Lose It: Betty White Hosts 'SNL' On May 8"-- Yeah, yeah. I know it's old news now, but I'm still just as thrilled. Betty White? Too. Freaking. Funny. DVR for sure!
Well, apparently I've been all about music and humor this week. There could be worse things in life!
NPR rocks!
