Happy Wednesday, all! It may be a short list of NPR stories this week, but the remarkable thing is that not one of them comes from
Morning Edition! Let's jump right in:
- "Scientists Capture Elusive Giant Palouse Earthworm"-- If you're not a bug kind of person, then this All Things Considered piece will probably not be your kind of story. But I'm happy to say that the kids and I are slowly venturing back into the world of project learning, and we're currently housing an earthworm nursery in our living room. (Don't worry, it's just a small box with dirt and we put our little tiny earthworms into the dirt once they come out of their teeny-tiny egg cases. Yeah, I know it's not everyone's thing...) So, this story is interesting and timely!
- "Do Not Look At These Dirty, Filthy State Seals"-- You just gotta love any bits from the Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me! folks, and their blog is a constant source for laughs. This one doesn't disappoint-- silly, irreverent and just plain wacky. Good times.
- "Knuffle Bunny"-- And finally, Studio 360 brings an interview with my favorite children's author, Mo Willems. I'm beyond thrilled to say that Red and I will be attending this new musical, on her actual 4th birthday, and it's even a possibility that we'll run into Mo himself, since he has announced he'll be attending that opening evening's show. (Unless of course, he's alerted to the fact that I'm gushing about it on here- two days in a row, nonetheless!- and his stalker radar goes off and he changes his plans. No, no!!)
As they say, that's all folks,
I have a bunch of knitting to do tomorrow, so this will be some of my listening. Thanks for the round up!
