- "When Fido Gets Left Behind"-- One program that I like to catch now and then, but I don't think I've ever included on these posts is Interfaith Voices. While I'm not religious myself, and have somewhat strong feelings about the concept of organized religion itself, I find this program to be fascinating, perhaps in a sociological sort of way. This particular segment of last week's show starts around the 50 minute mark and had me in complete awe-- at the whole idea, really.
- "In The Eye Of The Beholder: Art, Justin Bieber And The Best Equation Ever"-- Okay, I saw the headline on the NPR facebook feed, and I clicked over to the post on the 13.7 Cosmos and Culture blog. I read the post from beginning to end. Guess what? I truly have no idea what I read about. I debated not including it this week, but perhaps someone else out there will have even the foggiest idea about what these hundreds of words are saying??
- "Now We Are Alone: Living On Without Our Sons"-- Hubby called me when he was on the way home from work the evening this story appeared on All Things Considered. "Are you listening to NPR?!" I wasn't, but I immediately knew that the story that went by in the FB feed earlier that afternoon must be airing right at that moment. It's heartbreaking, and it WILL make you cry.
- "Mental Stimulation Postpones, Then Speeds Dementia"-- Well, it seems that we're damned if we and damned if we don't. Thanks for the heads up, Weekend Edition Saturday. Ugh.
- "Facts Can't Trump Politics In Immigration Debate"-- What? Politics overlooking facts? What now? Oh, Arizona, it seems like you're at the front of this ridiculous mess, and that Governor you have surely does provide some laughable moments, but seriously, why can't the issues be discussed rationally and around actual evidence, as in this story??
Until next time,

I sure missed the Labor Day parade this year :(
ReplyDelete@Abbot- The parade definitely missed you, too! The push mower-turned hang your laundry folks were battling Old Man Winter with shovels instead of snowblowers this year! The usuals were there, with Sity Stars being a crowd favorite as always, and approximately 4.2 million politicians made the parade go forever and ever.

I have all these grand plans of posting, and now it's almost Friday and I last posted on Tuesday. That's okay. With all my other writing and reviewing, Apparently 3 times a week is going to be a BIG week for me. And that's okay.
