If you're interested, you can spend some time with me each Tuesday with my column Bringing Up Three, Greenbelt Style. I'm trying to make my posts a nice combination of universal themes with local details. So far I've pondered how much freedom is appropriate for my oldest child, the safety rules that I think really matter, connecting with nature at a local lake, what hanging out with friends looks like in the parents-of-young-kids world, the fun of fall festivals, how all moms are 'working moms,' trick-or-treating with the wild things, the trends of super-babies, the beauty of a weekend away from it all, and the joy that comes from a trip to the library.
Ten posts in and I'm just loving everything about Patch. I like reading articles about the events of my immediate community. I like connecting with others through my column, and knowing that they probably just live right down the road. If the latest online trend is hyper-local focus, I can certainly understand the appeal.
Do you have a Patch in your community? If not, why not email Patch and let them know you want one? For us here in G'belt, it's a fantastic resource and I'm thrilled to be a part of it!
Happy to be writing,
