now posting regularly

The sun is shining here, even though the temperature is a good 50 degrees lower this morning than it was two afternoons ago. We've been spending more time outside lately, and the NPR-story-collecting reflects that this week. A few good pieces are better than none!

  • "Dear Wonder Woman: YOU Will Get Arrested If You Fight Crime In That Top" -- Oh Monkey See blog, how I adore when you pop up on the NPR Facebook feed. I didn't know that Wonder Woman was being remade, so this article was my introduction to the brouhaha about her outfit. It's quite funny. The story, that is. The outfit? Well, that's more than just a little outrageous.
  • "New zoning fad creates old-style business districts" -- Here's an interesting piece about commercial and residential zoning that caught my ear on Marketplace. Living in an area that has some mixed-use area, I can attest to the walkability factor that comes from having some overlap.
  • "The Future Of Libraries In The E-Book Age" -- Ah, the e-book is really messing with some traditional ways we acquire books, especially the library. This All Things Considered story brings different perspectives together.
  • "Fame, Glory And Laughs In Tina Fey's 'Bossypants'" -- As a reader and book reviewer, I'm ashamed to say that I didn't know Tina Fey had a memoir coming out. I must get my hands on this book. Here, Janeane Garofalo reviews the book on All Things Considered.
  • "At 40, 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' Still Belongs" -- This one is for my dear husband, who was indoctrinated as a child into loving John Denver. When I heard this piece about the origin of Take Me Home, Country Roads on Morning Edition, I knew he would enjoy hearing it.

Basking in the glow of NPR,
