MTE reviews: Aquafina Lip Care Line

Rounding out my week of reviews comes a product that I had no idea even existed before I was contacted by a PR company representative. Sure, I knew the Aquafina brand, but I was only aware of their bottled water products. Did you know that they also have lip care, skin care, and bath and body products as well?

I received two sample products from their lip care line to try out-- the Hydrating Lip Balm and the Hydrating Lip Oil. Remember how I said my feet were all dried out and cracked like crazy after our recent beach and camping trips? Well, it wasn't just my feet. After spending three days camping at the beach, I felt like I had been sandblasted over my entire body, and I know that I was not as hydrated as I should have been. As a result, my lips were uncomfortably cracked and dry- just a mess.

It was perfect timing to find the samples in the mailbox upon our return. The lip oils appeared more like lip gloss to me, so I opted to start off with the lip balm in my attempt at easing the dryness of my lips. I used the lip balm a couple times a day for a few days in a row. I can honestly say that after just the first full day, my lips were no longer cracked. At all. The 'hydrating' label is definitely well-fitting. I kept on using it because it simply felt good to keep my lips soft like that.

I continued to use the lip balm at night, just before going to sleep, but after a few days, I switched over to the lip oil for use during the day. Seeing as I'm not a regular make-up user, I equate lip gloss with fancy-schmancy times. But I threw that notion out the window, and smoothed on the lip oil on my regular old days of hanging with the kids. I personally prefer the feeling of the lip balm, but the lip oil also made my lips feel soft, though a little goopier, as lip gloss does.

Both samples came in original and "FlavorSplash" varieties- with Raspberry, Wild Berry and Citrus Blend for the lip balm and Wild Berry and Raspberry for the lip oil. The flavors aren't overwhelming or overly sweet like those lip products made for kids, with which I do have lots of experience. Thankfully, they also do not leave you with blue lips, either. What I experienced was simply softened lips. Perfect.

Big boxes of the lip oil and lip balm can be purchased on Aquafina's site, as well as the four pack of lip balm that I received (and is my favorite). Additionally, according to the info paper I received, both the lip balm and lip oil can also be purchased in stores including Walgreens and Wal-Mart, among others.

**Disclosure: I was provided with a 3-pack of Aquafina Lip Oil and a 4-pack of Aquafina Lip Balm for review purposes. All glowing praise (and softened lips) represents my own honest opinion.

Hydrated and happy,
