my short flagpole

I recently was the lucky online winner of a giveaway on Sue's blog, Laundry For Six, and my prize came in this week. It's Me on a Tee!

The idea is pretty unique- a casual t-shirt displaying your personal ancestry in either a flagpole or a pie chart style. Looking at the two styles, I preferred the flagpole for its color and overall visual appeal. (And also, maybe because I could benefit from a serious education on world flags...) I mean, look at the cool shirt on the founder of the Me on a Tee company, Rachel Mehta:

Neat, huh? That's a shirt with a whole bunch of heritage. I love the flagpole design, even if my own flagpole is, um, kind of short.

If I was from one of those families with a well-documented personal history, perhaps I'd have more info and more flags as a result, but alas, I only know the vague backgrounds of the folks up to my eight great-grandparents. Two of them came to the U.S. from Spain, and the other six were French transplants in Canada. Thus, my short pole.

I like kooky shirts, and I'm happy to have a Me on a Tee option in my closet now. If you're interested in wearing your own (most likely more interesting than mine) ancestry on a shirt, I've got a little treat for you. If you use the code morning11 by 8/1/11, you'll receive 30% off your entire order!

Thanks to Sue and Rachel for the giveaway!

100% cool t-shirt wearer,
