now posting regularly

Well, it's the final Wednesday of my stay-at-home, NPR-listening life. Not sure if/when/how this feature will continue, but if cool friends keep sending me links to stories they think would pique my interest, there may be a future in this yet!

  • "This Can't Be Happening" -- Cool, cool, cool. You gotta check this one out for some neat-o visual illusions on the Krulwich Wonders blog.
  • "Preschool: The Best Job-Training Program" -- Thank you to Planet Money for this concise, yet accurate in my humble opinion, on the benefits of a quality preschool program... benefits that can last a lifetime!
  • "'Sex On Six Legs': When Insects Go Wild" -- Gotta love it when a friend is emailing you a link about bug sex. Ah, you know me so well. Great Fresh Air segment on a new book called Sex on Six Legs: Lessons on Life, Love and Language from the Insect World. I'm pretty sure I need to read this book.
  • "Summer Sounds: Loon" -- I've highly enjoyed this feature all summer long, but this particular essay on All Things Considered definitely caught my ear, because my kids and I are just fascinated by the sound of the loon, which sadly, we only know from the recording in our favorite bird book by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

Until next time, whenever that may be,
