winter break blogging, chapter two

... in which the author realizes that pictures do, in fact, speak louder than words, partially due to the fact that a nap was being highly coveted and photos take a shorter time to upload than typing a blog post with a ridiculously high word count. Ahem.

Red showing off her latest holiday-themed dry erase board creation...
let's take a closer look, shall we?

Astute observers will notice the number of gifts marked H or HCM number 5 out of 9. Someone clearly believes she's on the "nice list." Other notable highlights of the picture, as explained by Red herself, include the gigantic Santa tree-topper holding packages, the Santa and one reindeered-sleigh which is bedazzled with blue dots to represent their MAGIC, and the window of smiling faces that features a platypus on the outside ledge. Yup, a platypus.

Annette and Frankie, posing for the camera, obviously mistaking it for food. Which they do very much enjoy getting.

About all we saw of JAM before he headed off to hang at a friend's house.
The highlight of every evening, the Lego countdown calendar. Just not sure what's with the police and jailbird theme going on... kinda odd...

The calendar is flanked by two of the beautiful holiday decorations created by my lovely hubby, perfect for the oenophile in your life. Wine bottles filled with lights, who would have thunk it?

The force was with me when I cut these two out. Thanks go to a friend who passed along the link

Much laughter with Pudge... this is among the things I've missed the most during the last few months. Got my fill this morning, because this kid is hilarious.

Red was inspired by the recent Nutcracker performance at school, and she broke out her play dance clothes this morning. We got our own five minute performance in the living room!

Winter break, day two: lots of this. And it was good.

Off to take a shameless midday nap,
