I sure hope that paint is washable

With blue paint on every visible skin surface, the Blue Man Group certainly seems like an odd bunch. They're bald, shiny and completely blue. They bang on things. Honestly, this whole concept sounds like something that my kids would LOVE to do themselves. I've always been mildly curious about this group, wondering what actually happens during a show to keep this group performing for audiences. Can you believe they've been doing this since 1987?

I learned that, and other bits of trivia that I hope are accurate, from their Wikipedia entry. Trivia like this:
  • The "Blue Men" might actually be played by women, if they meet specific physical and personality requirements.
  • It's not just Americans who are intrigued by this unique musical/theatrical performance, since the Blue Man Group has been on an International Tour this year, too.
  • The group did a commercial for a soft drink and painted themselves orange instead of blue for it!
  • I don't know how I missed seeing this myself, but the Blue Man Group apparently used to be somewhat of regulars on the kids' game show Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, giving out clues. Oh man, how I loved that show!
While I may have had a mild curiosity about the blue guys, my husband is a different story. He's wanted to see this show for as long as I can remember! We're both thrilled then to have the opportunity to see a performance this week at the Warner Theatre, here in Washington, DC!

If so, be sure to use this discount code, BLISSFUL, if you're purchasing tickets for shows on Wednesday, March 23rd, Thursday, March 24th, or Sunday, March 27th, for a $5 discount. Head to the Warner Theatre's calendar page for complete ticket info and to purchase.

I'll be happily reporting on our experience later this week!

**Disclosure: I have been provided two complementary tickets for the Wednesday, 3/23, show and will be writing a review piece, with my own honest opinion.

Curious and excited for an evening out,
