Anyway, let's start with a clean slate. The Fourth Stall is one of the books still being read, and because of my recent trips, my reading aloud adventure with JAM was abandoned so that he could just finish the book on his own. He did, and he really loved it, so now it's up to me to get back on track on my own with it, in time to participate in a blog tour for the book in early April. It's quite humorous and I think will be a hit with the 9-12 boy crowd.
Other than that, here's what's coming up for me:
*We Were Not Orphans by Sherry Matthews and Robert Draper -- A compilation of personal stories and memories from people who spent some of their childhood years at the Waco State Home. Some stories are filled with happiness, while others are filled with terrible memories of abuse and mistreatment. All of the stories so far have been completely compelling and moving.
*Attachments by Rainbow Rowell -- I'm looking forward to this fun-sounding novel about two co-worker friends whose humorous email exchange keeps the story flowing. Little do they know that a company employee in charge of making sure workers are not being inappropriate with their tech use is actually reading their messages, but not reporting them because of the fun contained in them!
*The Anti-Romantic Child: A Story of Unexpected Joy by Priscilla Gilman -- A parenting memoir that incorporates the author's personal studies of romantic poetry, comparing her studies with her reality of raising a child who is increasingly displaying "odd" behaviors. I'm curious about this one, as I am about most parenting memoirs, but something tells me that this one is going to have a beauty to its writing that will mark it as unique in a popular genre.
*Skinny by Diana Spechler -- Okay, I technically don't have this book on my shelf yet, but I hope to soon. And, I don't even know what this novel is about, except that it's written by a fabulous author, whose first novel Who By Fire impressed me so incredibly much. I'm going with my gut on this one, and I'm assuming that I'm going to enjoy reading more from Spechler!
Alrighty, that's what's coming down the reading pike for me. How about you? We'd love to have you link up with us over at 5 Minutes for Books' What's On Your Nightstand? Happy reading!

If you're so inclined, you can check out my reviews from the past few weeks:
*Felicity & Cordelia: A Tale of Two Bunnies -- a cute picture book about an adventurer and the friend waiting at home for her return
*On Reading: Season's Readings -- an essay I wrote about how spring reading differs from winter reading for me
*Cinderella Ate My Daughter -- the best parenting themed book I've read in a long, long time- amazing must-read book
*The Promises She Keeps -- a novel from a Christian publishing house that did not turn me off, since its story was first and foremost and any religious components were secondary and not proselytizing in any way
*Your Pinkie is More Powerful Than Your Thumb -- a neat compilation book of surprising facts that compelled me to read a ton of it aloud to my oh-so-patient husband
*Quiet Bunny's Many Colors -- a brand new, and absolutely adorable picture book perfect for spring
Ready to get my reading on,
