now posting regularly

Due to technical difficulties (with my immune system, that is), I missed last week's NPR post and opted to lie on the couch for several days in a shivering heap under every blanket we own. And now, my NPR radio bookmark button appears to be malfunctioning and not recording any actual bookmarks. So, as a result, I only have a couple links that I've saved from the NPR Facebook feed over the last two weeks or so. Timely? Not exactly, but they're still some darn good stories!

  • "Rare Rhino Makes Public Appearance"-- From The Picture Show on NPR's website comes a story that you've got to click over just to see the video clip of one of the planet's most endangered animals. Amazing.
  • "More Young People Scorning Sex, Study Finds"-- Over on Shots, NPR's health blog, a story caught my eye, because, well admit it, that headline would catch your eye, too. I have to admit that I'm surprised, but as the mother of a tween, I'm not going to scoff because I'm hopeful that it is possible for kids to delay sexual activity until they're older and better able to make a responsible decision!
  • "Study: Diet May Help ADHD Kids More Than Drugs"--I'm not sure why I'm linking to this All Things Considered story on a study that I think is a bunch of bullshit. I could go on and on (surprised?), but suffice it to say that I'm not taking much stock in this one's "findings."
  • "Gotcha! Elephant Caught Cheating"-- It must be video week here, because on Krulwich Wonders... An NPR Sciencey Blog, there's yet another piece with video features that help to tell the story. Of duplicitous elephants, of course.

              Still a loyal NPR listener,
